Translation result.[대구 [Herald Economy (Daegu)=Reporter Kim Byung-jin] Dalseo District in Daegu announced on the 21st that it will continue its Young Couples Wedding Grant program this year to help newlyweds get a stable start and to promote marriage.

Under the Dalseo District ordinance on marriage-promotion support, the program awards Onnuri gift certificates worth 300,000 KRW (approximately $225) to young couples who complete their marriage registration.

Both spouses must be at least 19 and no older than 39 on the date of marriage registration. They must also reside continuously in Dalseo District for at least six months following registration.

Applicants are required to maintain that residency until the grant is paid.

Note that the temporary extension of the application deadline has ended this year, so applicants should confirm the deadline carefully.

Couples must apply within 12 months of their marriage registration; those who miss the deadline will be ineligible.

Eligible applicants should submit their applications in person at their local dong administrative welfare center or at the Dalseo District Office’s Family Policy Division.

Submitted documents will be reviewed, and if applicants meet the requirements, the gift certificates will be issued within one month of the application date.

Lee Tae-hoon, head of the Dalseo District Office, said, “We hope this wedding grant provides a small boost to young couples as they begin their lives together. We will continue to support policies that make Dalseo a place where young people want to marry and stay.”
