On the 22nd, the county said it carried out a housing-improvement project for one household in Jangpyeong-myeon as part of the 2026 Shinhyup ‘Happy Home’ Project.

The program is a nationwide social contribution initiative designed to help children and adolescents live in healthier, more stable environments.

The ‘Happy Home’ Project has been Shinhyup’s flagship social-contribution effort since 2019. This year, it is supporting 130 households across the country.

The Shinhyup Social Contribution Foundation, the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, and the Jeonju Hanji Cooperative collaborated on the effort, providing eco-friendly hanji (traditional Korean mulberry paper) wallpaper and flooring.

Representatives from Gangjin Shinhyup and the Jangheung Financial Center, officials from the Jeonju Hanji Cooperative, and the installation team volunteered on-site, reinforcing the project’s community impact.

Local officials said the work went beyond simple renovations, demonstrating a community-wide commitment to shared support for vulnerable families.

Moon Kyung-hwan, chairman of Gangjin Shinhyup, said, \”We’re honored to help a local family with young members live in a more comfortable environment. We will continue to practice compassionate banking that supports the local community beyond our role as a financial institution.\”

A Jangheung County official said, \”This project is meaningful not only because it improves housing but also because it raises the quality of life for children and adolescents and supports their future. We will keep working to close welfare gaps and stabilize residents’ livelihoods.\”
