The congratulatory rice wreaths presented at the Information and Communications Professionals Family Unity event will be donated to multicultural families in the Jeju region.

On the 25th, Yang Bang-hoon, chair of the Information and Communications Professionals Family Unity event, handed over the entire 400 kg (about 882 lb) of rice wreaths collected at the event to the International Family Culture Institute.

The donation was arranged to redirect celebratory wreaths into local community support. The International Family Culture Institute will distribute the rice to multicultural families living across Jeju.

Yang said, “Just as information and communications technology connects people, I hope the rice we collected becomes a warm bridge between our neighbors and the community,” and added, “Going forward, information and communications professionals will continue to practice generosity as well as advance technology.”

Im Jeong-min, president of the International Family Culture Institute, expressed gratitude to Yang Bang-hoon and the Information and Communications community for thinking of local neighbors, saying the donated rice will be used to support multicultural families.

The International Family Culture Institute continues its local support work for multicultural families. This donation is an example of turning congratulatory wreaths from the Information and Communications Family Unity event into tangible community assistance.
