The National Pension Service’s Gyeongin Regional Office (Director Lee Jeong-su) partnered with a local private training institute to bake goods and deliver them—along with employee contributions—to marginalized children in the community as part of its social responsibility efforts.

On May 12, the regional office signed a social contribution agreement with The Art Barista Baking Academy’s Suwon branch and delivered 60 loaves of bread made by employees, together with staff donations, to Gyeongdongwon, a children’s welfare facility in Suwon, the office said.

The initiative was designed as a pro bono-style social contribution that moves beyond simple cash or in-kind donations. A public agency and a local private business collaborated so staff could learn professional baking skills and then turn that expertise into shared community benefits.

Under the agreement, The Art Barista Baking Academy provided baking instruction and workspace free of charge. About 10 employees from the Gyeongin Regional Office, guided by professional instructors, participated directly in every step of the process—from purchasing ingredients to mixing and baking—adding care at each stage.

The bread and donations will be used to provide healthy snacks and improve welfare services for the children living at Gyeongdongwon.

Lee Jeong-su, director of the National Pension Service’s Gyeongin Regional Office, said, “We hope the bread our staff made with care brings small moments of joy to the children. We will continue working closely with local private partners to carry out concrete, sincere social-contribution activities that the community can feel.”
