[Inews24 reporter So Jin-seop] Officials at Jecheon City Hall in North Chungcheong Province are drawing attention for producing fresh, citizen-focused content that meets residents where they are.

The team is ‘Jecheon Egayo’ (also rendered as ‘Jegayo’), which was formed in December of last year.

On the 18th, Jecheon City said that nine members of Jegayo, all civil servants, plan and appear in hands-on promotional videos that introduce local attractions, festivals and policy sites.

Jegayo departs from one-way government promotion, presenting Jecheon’s attractions in an accessible, friendly manner and drawing a strong public response.

The Cheongpung Lake Cherry Blossom Festival promo, which personified cherry blossoms, recorded 1.31 million views, and the Jecheon Red Fishcake Festival video reached 430,000 views, demonstrating new possibilities for promotional content.

They also produce practical civic content — from winter cold-weather alerts to university student registration and scholarship-support promotions — steadily engaging citizens on everyday issues.

Citizens who watched Jegayo’s content responded positively: \”Having civil servants participate directly makes it feel more approachable,\” and \”Because it’s entertaining, we naturally take in city information.\”

Kim Jin-ho, head of Jecheon City’s Public Relations Planning Team, said, \”Passionate civil servants are working hard to develop promotional content that empathizes with and engages citizens. We will continue to release diverse content that conveys Jecheon’s unique appeal and delivers city information in an easy and enjoyable way.\”
