[Sports Today Reporter Jeong Ye‑won] Singer Tae Jin‑ah’s new song is drawing attention for its resonance with current domestic and international developments.

Tae Jin‑ah recently promoted the single \”Gasi Yeon‑ah,\” which drew a warm response. His follow‑up track, \”From Hallasan’s Baengnokdam to Baekdusan’s Cheonji,\” has been gaining popularity.

Observers say the song stands out for its message of peace and unity, which dovetails with the moment. With wars and conflicts continuing around the world, interest in peace has risen. In South Korea, expectations for inter‑Korean exchange have grown after North Korea’s women’s soccer team visited the South. Many view Tae Jin‑ah’s song as particularly timely.

Tae Jin‑ah wrote the lyrics and his son Iru composed the music. The song expresses a hope that people from the South and North can travel freely, communicate openly, and live together. The lyrics weave a longing for unity and peace, just as the title suggests.

The track originally appeared on his full‑length album Tae Jin‑ah 2026 – Gasi Yeon‑ah, released last December. It has drawn renewed attention amid the recent news about the North Korean women’s soccer team’s visit to the South.

Tae Jin‑ah said that since performing in North Korea in 1999, he has wanted to write songs that comfort displaced people and families separated by division. He added that witnessing tragic events such as the Russia–Ukraine war strengthened his desire to offer a measure of comfort and hope to those who are hurting, and he sought to put that sentiment into the music.

Meanwhile, Tae Jin‑ah debuted in 1973 and has sustained a long-running career ever since.
