On May 30, the Ansan City Labor-Management-Government-Civil Society Council held a kickoff ceremony at the Space Oz seminar room to launch Korean-language classes for foreign migrant workers and has begun regular instruction.
According to the council, announced on the 1st, the program is designed to help foreign migrant workers living in Ansan settle more securely into the community and to improve their communication skills. Instruction will emphasize practical Korean that participants can use in everyday life.
Classes run through November, meeting for two hours beginning at 2 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday. Beyond language lessons, the council plans cultural activities and hands-on programs — including a Korean song contest — to help participants engage with Korean culture and the local community.
“We hope foreign migrant workers can communicate effectively in Korea, establish stable lives, and become part of the community,” a council secretariat official said. “We will continue to develop programs that promote human rights and support their adaptation to local life.”
