[Sports Today reporter Kang Tae-gu] The Doosan Bears beat the Samsung Lions to record their third win of the exhibition slate.
Doosan topped Samsung 8-2 on the 14th at Bears Park in Icheon in a 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO League exhibition game.
The victory moved Doosan to 3-1 in exhibition play and into first place. Samsung fell to 2-2.
Starter Choi Seung-yong delivered a solid outing for Doosan, working four innings while allowing four hits, striking out one, issuing two walks and surrendering one run.
Offensively, Kim In-tae was the standout, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Park Chan-ho and Jung Soo-bin each had multi-hit games that included homers, helping seal the win.
Samsung starter Lim Ki-young lasted three innings, yielding three hits (one a home run), striking out one, walking one and giving up two runs.
Doosan’s offense came out hot in the first inning. In the bottom of the frame, after Park Chan-ho doubled with no outs and a runner on second, Jung Soo-bin drove Lim Ki-young’s third pitch—a 126 km/h (78.3 mph) changeup—over the right-field wall for a two-run homer.
Samsung answered in the top of the second. With two outs and a runner on second following Park Se-hyuk’s double, Kim Heon-gon delivered an RBI single to pull one back.
Doosan broke the game open in the fourth. With two outs and runners on first and second after Yoon Joon-ho walked and Kim Min-seok singled to right, Park Chan-ho crushed a 136 km/h (84.5 mph) cutter from reliever Kim Tae-hoon over the left-field wall for a three-run homer.
Jung Soo-bin followed with a double, and Kim In-tae added an RBI double to push the lead to 6-1.
Doosan kept the pressure on. In the sixth, with Park Ji-hoon on first, Kim In-tae’s RBI double extended the advantage to 7-1.
Samsung mounted a brief rally in the seventh. After Shim Jae-hoon reached on an infield single and walks to Kim Ji-chan and Ryu Seung-min loaded the bases with one out, Jeon Byung-woo drew a bases-loaded walk to trim the deficit.
Doosan put the game away in the eighth. Park Ji-hoon singled and advanced to third on an errant pickoff throw by the pitcher, and Jo Soo-haeng’s grounder to second produced a run to make it 8-2.
With the lead in hand, Doosan brought in Lee Byung-heon to close out the ninth. He allowed consecutive hits to Han Su-ho and Ryu Seung-min but escaped the inning without allowing a run to finish the game.
