[Sports Today reporter Lee Sang-pil] Ji-seon Kang (30) hoisted her first Dream Tour trophy after a five-hole playoff.

Kang fired a two-round total of 7-under 137 at the KLPGA 2026 Gunsan CC Dream Tour Round 2 (total purse 70,000,000 KRW (52,500 USD), winner’s share 10,500,000 KRW (7,875 USD)), played April 6-7 at Gunsan Country Club (par 72 / 6,510 yards) on the Buan (OUT) and Namwon (IN) courses in Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do.

Tied with Hwang Yeon-seo (23, Rejuran), Kang prevailed on the fifth extra hole to claim the title.

Kang joined the KLPGA in August 2017 and notched a win that season at the KLPGA 2017 Abacus·Yurim Golf Club Jump Tour with Hyundai Solago, Round 11. She went on to finish 18th on the Dream Tour money list in 2019, which earned her a main-tour card for the first time.

As a 2020 rookie on the main tour, Kang posted three top-10 finishes and ended the year 36th on the money list and eighth in rookie points. After struggling to produce consistent results on the main tour, she has alternated between the main and Dream Tours. In 2025 she ranked 72nd on the main-tour money list and placed 61st in the KLPGA 2026 Main Tour Qualifying, which put her back on the Dream Tour this season.

Breaking a nearly nine-year win drought, Kang said, \”Competing on both the main tour and the Dream Tour for nine years without a victory was very difficult. Today’s win eases a lot of that pressure, and most importantly, it gives me the confidence that I can do it again.\”

Also, Kim Stella (28), who was tied for third after the first round, finished tied for third with Song Ji-yoon (20) at 6-under 138. Kang Jeong-hyun (23), who stood alone in second after round one, finished tied for fifth at 5-under 139 with Yoo Ah-hyun (19) and Kim Jae-rin (20). Yoon Hye-rim (29), the winner of the KLPGA 2026 Muan CC·All For You Dream Tour Round 1, finished tied for 22nd at 1-under 143 (74-69).

With the winner’s check of 10,500,000 KRW (7,875 USD), Kang’s season earnings rose to 11,718,000 KRW (8,788.50 USD), vaulting her from eighth to first on the money list. Yoon Hye-rim sits second with 11,130,000 KRW (8,347.50 USD) — just 588,000 KRW (441 USD) back — setting up a tight race for the Dream Tour money title.

The final round of the tournament, hosted by Gunsan Country Club and organized by the KLPGA, will be broadcast on tape delay on SBS Golf on the 22nd at 7:00 PM.
