Hanwha Life Esports Defeats T1: How They Achieved an 8-Game Winning Streak

Daniel Kim Views

Hanwha Life Esports coach Yoon Seong-yeong, known as Omme, credited open communication with his players for the team’s eight-game winning streak.

On May 1 at the LCK Arena in Grand Seoul, Jongno-gu, Seoul, Hanwha Life defeated T1 2-1. The win extended Hanwha Life’s streak to eight and improved their season record to 9-1 (+13), putting them alone atop the standings. T1 suffered its fourth loss of the season (6 wins).

Yoon said, “We dropped the first game, but I’m happy we won the match. It also gives us things to discuss.” He added, “The coaching staff and players executed the draft as planned. They showed strong initiations when needed, and that made the difference.”

On feedback after the Game 2 loss, he said, “There weren’t many disappointing points. Surprisingly, one player made several mistakes in Game 1 — I still remember those.”

After losing to T1 in the first round, Hanwha Life cruised to a comfortable win in the Round 2 meeting. Yoon credited the players’ hard work for their improved form and singled out Seo Jin-hyeok, known as Kanavi, who came from the LPL. “Because Kanavi talked well with the players about their strengths, he showed even better form,” Yoon said.

Looking ahead to their next match against DN Supers, Yoon said he wants to thank the players for their efforts and asked fans to keep their expectations up. “The players are working hard,” he added.
