Former Korean history instructor and conservative YouTuber Jeon Han-gil says Netflix removed all of his scenes from the drama ‘Poksak Soksasseuda’ because of his political views, and he called the show’s star, singer‑actress IU, \”left‑wing.\”

On the 14th, during a live stream on his YouTube channel, Jeon said two of his television appearances were cut and accused the production of removing him entirely.

Jeon had announced a cameo in the 2023 series ‘Poksak Soksasseuda,’ but none of his scenes appeared in the version released last March.

He said a director called and told him, \”The drama we’ve spent years preparing could be misinterpreted because of your political stance.\” Jeon added that while he would dispute that claim now, he agreed at the time to be edited out to avoid harming the production.

He went on to call IU left‑wing, saying, \”IU is left‑wing, so it’s acceptable for the drama to take that direction. Because I’m right‑wing, they treated me differently.\” He alleged he did not notice anything during filming, but that after the imposition of martial law, IU gave coffee to impeachment supporters and left‑wing groups.

He also accused her of acting self‑righteously and said she suddenly grew quiet after he threatened to report her to the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

Netflix responded to Jeon’s claim that he was completely edited out by saying he did appear as a cameo, but that the company carried out various edits and reshoots to present a higher‑quality work and denied that political considerations played a role.
