President Donald Trump said he could strike Iran again.

According to Reuters, on May 19 (local time) Trump spoke to reporters while touring the construction site for a White House banquet hall in Washington, D.C. He said, “I called off the resumption of attacks with only about an hour to go.” He added, “Iran’s leadership desperately wants to negotiate. If they don’t reach an agreement, we will resume strikes.”

The day before, he posted on Truth Social that the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani; Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman; and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan had asked him not to attack Iran. He said they told him they would secure a ceasefire agreement within two to three days.

When asked whether he would pursue a diplomatic agreement with Cuba, he replied, “I think so. They’re reaching out to us,” and added, “They need our help.”
