[SportsToday reporter Kang Tae-gu] MIAMI — Ha-seong Kim’s ability to get on base multiple times and his first stolen base of the season helped the Atlanta Braves to a 9-3 road victory over the Miami Marlins at LoanDepot Park on May 22, 2026 (Korean time).

Kim started at shortstop and batted eighth, finishing 1-for-3 with a run scored, a walk and a stolen base.

After reaching base multiple times in the May 20 game at Miami, Kim sat out on May 21 but returned May 22 to record multi-game on-base appearances in back-to-back contests.

His season batting average nudged up to 0.115 (3-for-26).

In the top of the second, with one out and nobody on, Kim grounded out to third. He delivered his lone hit in the top of the fifth.

With no outs and a runner on first in the fifth, Kim lined a 96.9 mph (155.9 km/h) fastball from Miami starter Sandy Alcantara into center for a single.

A Chadwick Tromp sacrifice bunt moved Kim to second, and he scored from third on a Ronald Acuña Jr. single to center.

Kim struck out swinging in the seventh. In the eighth, with two outs and the bases empty, he displayed patience and drew a walk in his fourth plate appearance.

With the count at 3-1, Miami left-hander reliever Cade Gibson threw a high, outside pitch that the umpire initially called a strike. Kim challenged the call under the ABS review.

The review overturned the call and Kim was awarded the walk. He promptly stole second to put himself in scoring position, but the Braves’ next hitters couldn’t bring him home.

Atlanta added another run in the ninth and closed out a 9-3 win.

The Braves extended their winning streak to three games and improved to 35-16, holding first place in the National League East. Miami fell to 22-29 after its third straight loss and dropped to the bottom of the division.
