Translation result김주형이 [Herald Economy reporter Jo Yong-jik] Kim Joo-hyung aimed for a top-10 finish at the PGA Tour’s Charles Schwab Challenge (total purse $9.9 million) but came up short.

On the final day, June 1 (Korean time), at Colonial Country Club (par 70) in Fort Worth, Texas, Kim carded a 4-over 74, making four bogeys and no birdies.

He opened the week with a 6-under 64 to sit tied for the lead after round one, then slipped to a 2-over 72 in round two and posted an even-par 70 in round three. His struggles continued on Sunday, and he finished even-par 280, tied for 54th (T54).

Starting the final round T27, Kim bogeyed Nos. 4 (par 3) and 5 (par 4) on the front nine. At the par-4 7th he reached the green in three and missed a 2.2-meter par putt, leaving him three shots off par on the front side with no birdies. He held pars through the back nine but closed with a bogey at the 18th (par 4), finishing the day without a birdie.

Russell Henley closed with a 3-under round to reach 12-under 268 and force a playoff. Eric Cole, who began the final round with a one-shot lead, suffered a double bogey at the par-4 9th and settled for an even-par 70, sending the tournament into extra holes.

On the first playoff hole at the par-4 18th, Henley made a birdie while Cole made par. Henley earned his first victory of the season and the sixth of his PGA Tour career, collecting $1,782,000 (about 2.682 billion KRW).

Defending champion Ben Griffin rallied with a 5-under final round to finish 11-under 269, vaulting 16 spots from a tie for 19th to finish tied for third.
