[MyDaily = Reporter Shim Jae-hee] The San Francisco Giants remain mired in a slump, going 3-7 over their last 10 games. A 19-6 rout of the Colorado Rockies on June 1 — highlighted by Lee Jung-hoo’s five-hit performance — offered a brief high, but the team’s pitching staff collapsed the next night in Milwaukee in a 2-16 loss.

The blowout took place June 2 at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, during the 2026 MLB regular season. The Giants plated two runs in the top of the second, but Milwaukee answered with seven in the bottom half to seize control. The Brewers tacked on one in the fourth, two in the sixth, two in the seventh and four in the eighth to put the game out of reach.

Lee Jung-hoo started in right field and hit fifth. He went 1-for-4 with a run scored, marking his fourth straight game with a hit since returning from the injured list. He’s hitting .303 this season (60-for-198) with three home runs, 19 RBIs, a .340 on-base percentage, a .429 slugging percentage and a .769 OPS. Lee was activated from the 10-day injured list on May 30 and has gone 12-for-19 over his last four games.

Maintaining a .300-plus average has kept Lee among the National League’s top hitters; he’s tied for eighth in batting average with Pittsburgh’s Nick Gonzalez. Among Giants regulars, only Luis Arraez (.321) owns a higher average. Lee is also tied for 16th in the NL in total hits.

Milwaukee’s

Despite Lee’s contribution, the Giants were thoroughly outplayed. The loss dropped San Francisco to 23-37 (.383), leaving them fourth in the NL West. They trail third-place Arizona by 9.5 games (Arizona 32-27, .542) and sit a staggering 15 games behind division leader the Los Angeles Dodgers (38-22, .633). San Francisco now faces the real risk of slipping to the division’s bottom spot, holding just a half-game edge over last-place Colorado (23-38, .377).

Milwaukee dominated at home and extended its strong run, improving to 36-21 (.632). The Brewers are 7-3 over their last 10 games and lead the NL Central, 5.5 games up on second-place St. Louis (31-27, .533) and the tied pair of Pittsburgh and the Chicago Cubs (both 32-28, .533).
