[MyDaily = Reporter Noh Chan-hyuk] Manchester United’s starting goalkeeper Zenne Ramses has been named the English Premier League’s Signing of the Year.
On June 1 (Korean time), the EPL announced on its official site that Ramses earned the honor after a sensational debut season in England.
Ramses, a Belgian, stands 1.93 m (6 ft 4 in) and combines a strong physical presence with sharp reflexes, excellent positioning and commanding aerial ability. Scouts have even tipped him as a possible long-term successor to Thibaut Courtois at the highest level.
He entered Club Brugge’s youth system in 2014 and made his professional debut in the 2020–21 season. Ahead of the 2023–24 campaign he moved to Royal Antwerp, where his progress accelerated.

After featuring just 16 times in his first pro season, Ramses became Antwerp’s first-choice keeper last year, appearing in 44 matches. That form caught Manchester United’s eye as the club moved to refresh its goalkeeping ranks, eventually landing him this season.
Ramses wasted no time proving his worth at Old Trafford. He started 32 Premier League games, conceded 39 goals, registered 79 saves and kept eight clean sheets. His consistent performances helped United finish third in the table and secure a return to the UEFA Champions League.

At the season’s end, Ramses picked up the EPL’s Signing of the Year award. The league explained the accolade goes to the player who has made the biggest impact after joining a new club, noting Ramses played a major role in United achieving their best finish in three seasons.
United claimed two individual EPL honors this year. Club captain Bruno Fernandes was voted Player of the Year, with Ramses taking the Signing of the Year. Michael Carrick was named Manager of the Year, and Kobbie Mainoo was a finalist for Young Player of the Year.
