Ganghwa County in Incheon is rolling out the red carpet for international visitors in a bold move to boost its tourism game and create a sustainable industry that’ll keep the good times rolling.

For the first time ever, the county is on the hunt for travel agencies specializing in foreign tourists. They’re accepting applications until the 25th of this month, so it’s time to get those proposals in!

Here’s the scoop: they’re picking five lucky agencies to join their dream team. Each agency could score up to 20 million KRW (15,000 USD) in support for all things tourism – we’re talking promotional costs, creating multilingual content that pops, running those Instagram-worthy experiences, and even sweet incentives for bringing in the crowds.

If you’re an inbound travel agency registered under the Tourism Promotion Act, this could be your moment to shine.

But hold up – there are some ground rules. If you’ve been out of the game or in hot water with the law recently, you’re out. And make sure your taxes and insurance are up to date, or you won’t even make it to the starting line.

The selection process is no joke. They’re looking at your track record with foreign tourists and sizing up how realistic your plans are. It’s a mix of hard numbers and creative vision.

Score below 60 points? Sorry, but you’re not making the cut.

The chosen few will be crafting bespoke experiences that showcase the best of Ganghwa County to our international friends. Plus, they’ll be jet-setting to tourism fairs at home and abroad, spreading the word about this hidden gem.

But it’s not all glitz and glamour – these agencies will be crunching numbers on tourist arrivals and keeping their finger on the pulse of travel trends to help shape the county’s tourism strategy.

Mayor Park Yong-cheol is all in, promising, “We’re going to shout from the rooftops about Ganghwa’s amazing attractions to the world. And you bet we’re pulling out all the stops to make sure every tourist dollar helps our local businesses thrive.”
