Yanolja is teaming up with global bank Citi to build payment and settlement systems for the travel industry.
Yanolja said on March 13 that it formalized plans to expand its cooperation with Citi on travel-industry payments at the Citi Asia Digital Leaders Summit 2026, held March 11–13 at the Mandarin Oriental in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China.
The partnership expands on a collaboration that began in 2021 between Yanolja and Citi Korea, extending it into Citi’s global network. Both companies will focus on developing an integrated payment and settlement system tailored to travel businesses.
Yanolja will integrate its travel platforms and solution technologies with global operators, while Citi will provide payment and cash-management infrastructure through its worldwide financial network.
The agreement covers streamlining global B2B settlements, integrating API-based automated settlement and payment systems, applying artificial intelligence for financial risk management, and expanding global cash-management and payment infrastructure. The partners are exploring ways to automate payment and settlement processes across markets.
Gunjan Kalra, head of Citi Commercial Banking for Japan, North Asia & Australia (JANA) and South Asia, said, “As companies expand into multiple regions, maintaining consistent operations in new markets is critical.” He called the partnership an example of how building global payment infrastructure supports businesses.
Lee Su-jin, CEO of Yanolja Group, said the collaboration is focused on building payment infrastructure for the travel industry and that the company plans to roll out systems that combine travel solutions with financial infrastructure.
At the same event, Lee Jun-young, head of Yanolja’s Enterprise Solutions division, spoke about the company’s AI-based travel solutions and related technologies.
