On the 13th, North Chungcheong’s major mountains and recreational spots pulled noticeably larger crowds as the weather warmed up.
The Cheongju Meteorological Office reported that by 2 p.m., Cheongju hit 12°C (54°F), and most parts of the province climbed past 10°C (50°F).
With calm winds and air quality rated “Good,” locals felt comfortable heading outdoors, and popular peaks and tourist sites filled up with day-trippers.
At Musimcheon Stream and Munam Ecological Park, lightly dressed families, couples and groups of friends soaked up the spring air with bright smiles.
By 2:30 p.m., roughly 2,300 visitors had arrived at Cheongnamdae, the former presidential villa in Cheongju. They strolled the winding Presidential Road along Daecheong Lake, taking in the scenic views.
That figure was about double last weekend’s 1,400 visitors. The Cheongnamdae management office expected 2,600–2,700 people by day’s end.
Songnisan and Woraksan National Parks, the up-and-coming Jincheon Nongdari, and other large and small attractions across the province were buzzing with tourists eager to enjoy the early spring vibes.
