[Tour Korea = Reporter Seong-ran Jo] When spring bursts into bloom, try a spring-flower trek—walk flower-lined paths and soak up the season with your whole body.
Seungwoo Travel has unveiled spring-flower trekking routes that follow the season’s signature blooms—plum, cornelian cherry, winter aconite, pasque flower, azalea, rapeseed, and cherry blossoms—and is now booking travelers.
Instead of quick stops at single attractions, these trips are designed as continuous trekking routes that run through villages, ridgelines, and coastal paths so you can feel the spring landscape with every step. You’ll wander plum-lined lanes by traditional houses and temples, stroll through villages carpeted in yellow wildflowers, trace ridgelines painted by azaleas, walk rapeseed paths along the coast, and explore quiet mountain cherry-blossom trails—sampling a wide variety of spring scenery.
Plum treks that herald spring

From February into March, plum blossoms announce the start of spring. These itineraries take you on gentle walks around quiet temples and traditional hanok neighborhoods so you can savor the flowers’ subtle scent and feel the season shift.
Representative routes for quietly enjoying plum blossoms include the trail linking Suncheon’s Geumjeonsan and Geumdunsa, the Jogyesan trek from Seonamsa to Songgwangsa, the temple paths around Hwaeomsa and the Yeongi-am healing trail, and the forest trail from Baekyangsa to the old Jangseong Saejae route.
Village roads turned yellow with spring flowers

In March, cornelian cherry, winter aconite, and pasque flowers turn fields and hillsides a bright yellow.
Routes that let you experience villages filled with yellow blooms up close include the Chilgok Gasan Fortress trail connected to winter aconite clusters and the course linking Gurye’s cornelian cherry village with the Jirisan Dulle-gil. In Icheon’s cornelian cherry village, paths around Jeonggaesan and Wonjeoksan naturally lead into local festival grounds.
At Jeongseon’s Donggang, you can pair a visit to the rare Donggang pasque flower colonies with a ridge hike on Gariwangsan, blending nature exploration with a satisfying trek.
Azalea hikes along pink ridgelines

From late March into April, azalea colonies paint ridgelines a vivid pink.
Yeosu’s Yeongchwisan is famous for sweeping views that combine the southern sea with azalea-covered ridges. Ganghwa’s Goryeosan is popular for its West Sea vistas and historical sites. And Daegu’s Biseulsan features an azalea colony covering roughly 300,000 pyeong (about 245 acres), giving hikers the feeling of walking through a sea of flowers.
Rapeseed paths that follow coasts and wetlands

In April, rapeseed fields paint coasts and plains bright yellow.
One itinerary pairs the Maengbang rapeseed fields in Samcheok with the Deokbongsan coastal trail, offering scenes that blend flowers and sea. Another links the Namji rapeseed complex in Changnyeong with the Upo Wetland ecological trail so travelers can experience wetland ecology and seasonal change together.
Other options include following Byeonsan Masil-gil Course 3 to visit Chaesokgang and Jeokbyeokgang or taking a one-night, two-day trek to see rapeseed scenery on Gwanmaedo in Dadohaehaesang National Park.
Cherry blossoms on quiet mountain slopes

After mid-April, the company offers routes that skip crowded cherry-blossom hotspots in favor of quieter paths.
A course that begins at the Sangnim Park promenade in Hamyang, passes through the Hwarimdong valley, and follows the Seonbi Culture Trail lets hikers enjoy natural and traditional scenery together. Geumsan’s Bogok Village “Jajjinbaengi Dullegil” showcases the simple charm of wild mountain cherry trees. And at Seosan’s Gaesimsa, walkers can enjoy single and double cherry blossoms before following the Aram-gil path to Haemieupseong, a route that blends natural beauty with historic sites.
A Seungwoo Travel official said, “This spring-flower trekking focuses on walking the flower-lined paths and feeling spring’s changes, not on quickly touring famous sites. We hope travelers will walk from plum blossoms through cherry blossoms and experience real spring in nature.”
