Joint marketing with the Korea Tourism Organization…Showcasing stay-focused tourism's luminous appeal

Tongyeong City will operate a Night Tourism Special Pavilion at the 2026 Naenara Travel Expo, which runs for four days from the 19th to the 22nd at the COEX Magok Exhibition Hall in Seoul.
The Naenara Travel Expo, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Tourism Association, is South Korea’s flagship travel fair. Local governments and related organizations from across the country take part to promote a wide range of tourism content and travel products. This year’s theme, “Travel Beyond the Everyday, Travel That Stays in the Region,” brings together island and marine tourism, themed and regional pavilions, night tourism, a regional balance development conference, hands-on events, and more—offering a one-stop source for domestic travel information.
The city will co-run the Night Tourism Special Pavilion with the Korea Tourism Organization. It will showcase distinctive night-tourism offerings from 10 specialized cities across the country and sum up the results of projects carried out over the past four years.
Leveraging Tongyeong’s reputation as a top night-tourism destination, officials plan to spotlight the city’s evocative nighttime seascapes, media art, and immersive after-dark experiences. The aim is to convey the appeal of stay-focused tourism and spark visitors’ desire to actually book a trip.
On site, visitors can take part in interactive experiences. Inside the Night Tourism Pavilion, a blackout experience zone will host a “Neon Brush” activity using UV-reactive neon paint, so attendees can feel the thrill of night tourism firsthand. Organizers will also run on-site social media events to promote Tongyeong’s signature night attractions and deepen engagement with visitors.
A city official said, “Through this expo, we will broadly promote Tongyeong’s night-tourism appeal and expand stay-focused tourism that keeps travelers in the region. We will leverage night tourism to stimulate the local economy and support sustainable regional development.”
