 BNK Gyeongnam Bank

[Herald Economy (Changwon) = Reporter Hwang Sang-wook] BNK Gyeongnam Bank is teaming up with partner organizations to strengthen tourism welfare across Gyeongnam and make travel more accessible for underserved residents.

On March 24, BNK Gyeongnam Bank signed a memorandum of understanding at the Gyeongnam Tourism Enterprise Support Center with the Gyeongnam Tourism Foundation and the Gyeongnam Tourism Association to train Gyeongnam-style tour companion managers and promote barrier-free tourism. About 40 people attended the signing ceremony, including leaders from each organization, the instructors for the first tour companion manager training cohort, and the trainees.

Under the agreement, the three organizations will collaborate to train tour companion managers; support accessible-tourism projects; identify and promote open tourism sites across Gyeongnam; and launch joint initiatives to expand tourism welfare. BNK Gyeongnam Bank will provide funding and promotion, the Gyeongnam Tourism Foundation will lead project planning, and the Gyeongnam Tourism Association will handle day-to-day operations as the three partners activate their joint framework.

Heo Jong-gu, deputy president of BNK Gyeongnam Bank, said the bank will actively work to address pressing challenges—such as population decline and an aging demographic—while creating social value.

Bae Jong-cheon, CEO of the Gyeongnam Tourism Foundation, said the foundation will help secure mobility rights for tourism-vulnerable groups, create jobs for local talent, and partner with communities to enhance the long-term sustainability of tourism in Gyeongnam.
