The Sobaeksan National Park Northern Office of the Korea National Park Service announced on March 27 that Namcheon Campground will reopen on April 2.
The campground will be open for eight months, through Nov. 30.
Campers must reserve in advance through the National Park reservation system. To help spread demand during peak season and on weekends, reservations for busy periods will be allocated by lottery.
Set on 7,364 m² (about 79,261 sq ft), Namcheon offers 28 camping units: nine standard campsites, 16 house-style cabins, and three mountain-hut tents, plus shared cooking areas and showers.
Last year, Chungcheongbuk-do named it the province’s only Public Excellent Campground (Family-Friendly).
An office official said the site was closed for maintenance from December through March and is reopening after four months.
