Gimhae City is injecting fresh energy into everyday life with a lineup of \”everyday-focused\” policies that touch residents’ daily routines — from programs that help young people meet to stay-style tourism and smarter administrative services.

Leading the charge is a social program aimed at helping young people build networks. The city announced on the 24th that it will host the 7th \”I’m a Gimhae Solo — Love Challenge,\” a one-night, two-day event starting June 20.

Open to 24 single men and women ages 31 to 41 who live or work in Gimhae, the event uses playful, active mixers — think couple dodgeball and pool games — to encourage relaxed, natural connections. Residents can apply online for one month beginning the 27th.

For visitors who want to linger, the city is also running a stay-focused program called \”Gimhae-e Seumim-ae (愛).\” Participants can stay anywhere from 3 to 29 nights and are asked to share travel content on social media; the city will cover part of lodging and experience fees. The first recruitment round runs through the 30th, and 15 selected teams will act as ambassadors to showcase Gimhae’s lesser-known charms.

Booking public facilities has been simplified as well. Park-use permit applications that once required a phone call or an in-person visit are now available online 24/7 via the city’s \”Public Reservation Portal,\” making it easier to reserve spots at popular green spaces like Yeonji Park and Yulha Stream.

Cultural and lifelong-learning classes for residents are expanding too. The Gimhae Da-eoulim Living Culture Center will hold the \”2026 Da-eoulim Regular Classes\” from the 28th through the end of August. Three practical courses — Korean history, a singing class, and Korean language lessons — will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Altogether, these initiatives aim to broaden opportunities for resident participation across youth exchanges, tourist stays, administrative conveniences, and cultural engagement.

A city official said each program was designed for practical use in residents’ daily lives and that officials will continuously monitor operations to ensure participants keep experiencing tangible benefits.
