Public Times — Early next month, May 1 (Labor Day) and May 5 (Children’s Day) fall around the weekend, creating a holiday stretch of up to five days. At the end of the month, Buddha’s Birthday on May 24 falls on a Monday, and with the substitute holiday on the 25th people can enjoy a three-day break.

Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization will begin selling the Gyeonggi Tour Pass on April 27 and the Bay Valley Tour Pass on April 28. The launches are timed to meet strong travel demand during May’s golden holidays and Family Month.

Both programs are designed to lower visitors’ costs and improve mobility, encouraging longer stays. The goal is to boost tourism across the province and grow tourism spending through expanded cross-regional cooperation.

The Gyeonggi Tour Pass is an all-in-one ticket that gives holders access to participating attractions and experience facilities across 31 cities and counties in the province. It currently offers a 24-hour pass (26,900 KRW, approximately $20.18) and a 48-hour pass (35,900 KRW, approximately $26.93). More than 130 locations — including tourist sites, experience centers, and cafes — have confirmed their participation. The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization plans to expand the network to 200 sites by the end of the year.

Visitors can buy the pass easily through online platforms. Sales will roll out sequentially starting with SmartStore, followed by Gmarket, Auction, Coupang, MyRealTrip, Yanolja (Nol), Lotte ON, TourPass Mall, Yeogi-eottae, Klook and other channels.

The pass is issued as a mobile ticket, and holders can visit participating facilities freely during the valid period. No separate reservations are required, so you can start using it immediately and make the most of your itinerary without wasting time.

For details, visit the Gyeonggi Tour Pass website (www.ggtourpass.kr).

The Bay Valley Tour Pass is a super-regional integrated tourism product that covers participating sites in southern Gyeonggi and northern Chungcheongnam-do. Ahead of the full integrated pass launch, a limited run of 1,000 “Pick-Your-Landmark” packages (about 20 sites) will be offered on SmartStore as a launch promotion, discounted from the regular price of 15,900 KRW (approximately $11.93) to 13,900 KRW (approximately $10.43).

A Gyeonggi Tourism Organization spokesperson said, “Now in its fourth year, the Gyeonggi Tour Pass has proven its value. We’ve enhanced convenience to raise usage and strengthen its role as the province’s signature tourism product, and we aim to further promote multi-day stays across the region.”

They added, “Now in its second year, the Bay Valley Tour Pass is the first tourism cooperation between metropolitan local governments. We will do our best to help it take root successfully by expanding the foundation for sustained travel growth.”
