Wando County is expanding its tourism lineup with hands-on marine therapy programs timed to the 2026 Pre-Wando International Seaweed Expo.
From May 2 through May 7, the county will open a Marine Therapy Pavilion on the expo grounds packed with visitor-focused activities. Officials say the goal is to deepen engagement, encourage longer stays at the expo, and build stronger connections with the surrounding tourism scene by adding immersive, interactive elements.
At the pavilion, staff will measure visitors’ health and recommend personalized therapy plans. There will also be a stamp tour linking key attractions: visitors who follow designated routes and collect stamps can redeem them for souvenirs, nudging people to explore more of the area.
The lineup includes short, focused relaxation sessions paired with playful, game-like activities to make the experience feel both restorative and fun. On opening day, a guided walk along the Sinji Myeongsasipri Beach area will further tie the event to nearby outdoor attractions.
Visitors who complete the stamp tour during the expo will qualify for discounted admission to the Marine Therapy Center and other major local sites. Officials hope those incentives will help convert expo attendance into real local tourism spending.
The expo itself will center on exhibits and hands-on programs related to the seaweed industry, showcasing its value and potential uses.
