Da Nang’s Only Club Lounge Debuts

Private Pool to Private Check-in

Mini Golf and Pickleball Expand Sports Offerings

Da Nang, Vietnam, is so familiar to Korean travelers that people joke it’s like “Da Nang City in Gyeonggi Province.”

Trips to Da Nang often turn into hotel-centered getaways—luxury resorts are surprisingly affordable compared with Korea. That means repeat visitors often prefer to unwind at their resort rather than cram their days with sightseeing.

Among the favorites for Korean travelers is the Hyatt Regency Da Nang Resort and Spa. Located on Non Nuoc Beach—famous for its white sand—the sprawling resort has a long stretch of beach, multiple pools and plenty of space to roam: the classic beach resort setup.

Because the resort sees many repeat guests, Hyatt Regency Da Nang keeps introducing new programs and facilities every year. This year it rolled out a club lounge and beefed up its sports offerings. I visited to see how the property has evolved from a place to rest into a place to play.

Introduces Da Nang’s Only “Club” Concept

This year the resort’s biggest change is the club concept—the only one of its kind in Da Nang. For roughly 80,000 KRW (~$60) extra over a standard room, guests get access to the Regency Club lounge and its perks. It’s essentially a boutique hotel inside the hotel.

The Regency Club lounge is reserved for club members and offers a quiet, cozy spot to chat with family or catch up on work. Help-yourself soft drinks, coffee and tea are available all day. From 5 to 7 p.m., the lounge hosts a happy hour with evening cocktails, canapés and unlimited signature drinks.

Club-room guests can enjoy breakfast in the private lounge, choosing from à la carte international and Vietnamese dishes. The beverage selection includes beer and wine.

The resort also offers a dedicated check-in and check-out area for club members, so you can skip the main lobby line. Concierge service is available in the club space as well.

Club rooms are 40 m² (about 430 sq ft). You can choose a king bed or twins. King rooms come with a daybed and a private balcony of 12 m² (about 129 sq ft).

The club rooms are closest to the lobby, making them very convenient—most restaurants and the main pool sit nearby. Ground-floor rooms open directly onto the pool.

The private pool is a standout: lounge on the sun deck with cabanas and enjoy a less crowded swim. Unlike the other pools, it’s 1.6 m deep (about 5.2 ft), so it’s better suited for serious laps. The pool has three lanes and is reserved for club guests, so it rarely gets packed.

A Stay-and-Play Resort That Strengthens Sports

Another major upgrade this year focuses on sports facilities.

Key facilities include a 9-hole mini golf course and The Courts, where guests can play tennis, padel and pickleball.

Pickleball has exploded worldwide. Played with paddles and a perforated plastic ball on a court about the size of a badminton court, it’s less demanding than tennis and great for beginners.

The 9-hole mini golf course is set up for team play, so you can split into groups and keep score. It’s easy for beginners and a hit with families.

What sets the resort apart is how easy it makes trying new sports. Guests can sample activities that are usually hard to access—mini golf, boxing, pickleball—in 30- to 60-minute lessons. Coaches are on hand and you can book sessions at convenient times. Try a new activity whenever you have a spare moment, and you’ll leave with more skills than when you arrived.

Hyatt Regency Da Nang has been evolving steadily in recent years. In 2023 it refreshed the terrace outdoor bar, revamped Camp Hyatt and added a junior football pitch plus an arena game room. In 2024 the resort introduced Le Petit Chef, rebranded its Vietnamese restaurant San House, and opened a sports club with 3D indoor golf and squash.

In 2025 the resort added a basketball court and Little Farm, and introduced a new room type called the Garden Room. Little Farm is a hands-on farm experience unique to Hyatt Regency Da Nang: kids plant vegetables, meet bees and rabbits up close, and connect with nature. The resort also runs interactive experiences like making traditional Vietnamese coffee.

This year, after opening the 9-hole mini golf and the racket club, the resort plans to launch a new Le Petit Chef episode called “Le Petit Chef & Friends.”
