An international event set to open new horizons for Korea’s inbound tourism scene is launching its second edition in Taiwan. Korea Exhibition Industry Co. announced it will stage the 2nd Korea Travel Expo (KTE) at the Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) from the 22nd through the 25th for four days.

The expo runs alongside the 20th Taipei International Travel Fair (TTE), Taiwan’s biggest tourism event, and organizers expect more than 300,000 local visitors. Under the slogan Korea, Connected / Korea Travel Bucket List!, the show will feature about 110 booths, including major regional governments such as Seoul, Gyeonggi, Gangwon and Jeolla. Private tourism players and associations — including the Korea Health Industry Development Institute and Kangwon Land — will also participate, showcasing content that spans medical tourism, leisure and K-culture.

The organizer, Korea Exhibition Industry Co., has mobilized wide-ranging PR channels across Taiwan — media outlets, search portals and influencers — to make sure participating groups and companies get real exposure.

Taiwan ranked third last year in the number of travelers visiting Korea, after China and Japan. More than 60% of those visitors come purely for leisure, and average per-person spending tops $2,000 (approximately 2,666,667 KRW), marking it as a high-value market. Satisfaction with travel in Korea reached 97.2%, making Taiwan an ideal host for the expo.

The exhibition space will be designed as multi-sensory, hands-on experiences aimed at Taiwan’s Millennial and Gen Z audiences. Side events include a special performance by gugak (traditional Korean music) artist Lee Yuna, K-food showcases, K-beauty demos (makeup masterclasses) and energetic K-pop cover-dance performances — a lineup meant to captivate locals. Organizers also beefed up business-focused programs to drive tangible results beyond a typical trade show.

“The Korea Travel Expo, led by the private sector, will brand ‘K-Travel’ and act as a springboard for the domestic travel industry’s next leap,” said Lee Mun-seop, CEO of Korea Exhibition Industry Co. He added they plan to grow the expo into a glocal tourism promotion hub that draws young people from around the world to every corner of Korea in the near future.
