[SPOTV News=Reporter Kang Hyo-jin] V.O.S. singer Choi Hyun-joon revealed that he and his family are relocating to Canada.

On the 13th, he posted on social media: “After much reflection, I’ve decided to immigrate to Canada. This is just the beginning.”

He said his family never really knows where life will take them, and that he hopes their new start in Vancouver brings joyful surprises and fresh challenges — and that they’ll be even happier.

Addressing fans who might be disappointed, he added that some people may have noticed his plans and reassured everyone he arrived at this decision very carefully. “I’m sorry if it feels sudden — I’ve been considering this for a long time,” he wrote.

Explaining his motives, he said the move is about prioritizing his children and family: “I’m steering my life toward giving them a healthier, happier future.”

He vowed to keep pursuing his music career. “I’ll still perform in Korea every October through December,” he wrote, saying he’ll adapt to a new annual routine as an artist in the fourth quarter. “I hope you’ll understand if you’re disappointed. It might be selfish, but please support this new chapter.”

He plans to finish all scheduled commitments through June 16 and then depart for Canada on June 17.

Choi debuted in 2004 as a member of the group V.O.S. He married model Shin So-yi, who is four years his junior, in 2014. The couple have one son and one daughter.
