BusanBusan is launching an all-out \”Citywide Festival\” project to turn the entire city into a vast mixed-use cultural and tourism playground ahead of BTS’s world tour concert in June.

Busan announced on the 19th that it will activate large-scale tourism programming around the \”BTS World Tour: Arirang IN Busan\” performances at Busan Asiad Main Stadium on June 12–13, giving domestic and international visitors a chance to fully immerse themselves in what the city has to offer.

To make the concerts more than just single-night events and instead encourage multi-day stays, the city has developed tailored strategies around four themes: hospitality, experiences, food, and lasting impressions.

To create a memorable first impression, Busan will transform major transit hubs and landmarks into festival-ready spaces. From June 8–14, the international arrivals hall at Gimhae Airport will host a welcome week for foreign visitors, while the Eurasia Platform at Busan Station will operate a large welcome center from June 5–21 offering tourist information, luggage storage, and K-pop experience zones. On June 12 and 13, the plaza at Busan Station will feature a Busan Pop-up Store showcasing local products, along with vibrant street performances such as the traditional Dongnae hakchum dance and busking. Ten of Busan’s signature landmarks — including Gwangan Bridge, Nurimaru, and Busan Tower at Yongdusan Park — will be lit in red inspired by BTS’s new album to heighten the festive vibe.

At 10 p.m. on June 12 and 13, the city will stage a large-scale drone-lighting show at Gwangalli Beach, synchronizing 1,000 drones with the Gwangan Bridge lights to send a welcome message to fans around the world. From June 11–13, Song Sang-hyeon Square will host \”The Red Moment Busan\” program, featuring photo zones and live music.

A lineup of food festivals will follow. From June 4–21 (Thursdays through Sundays), Pier 1 at Busan Port will host Port Village Busan 2026, bringing together 50 local F&B teams to create a seaside gourmet lounge. From June 10–14, the lotus pond area at Hwamyung Ecological Park in Buk-gu will run the Starry Sea Busan Night Market, combining a traditional liquor pop-up with an evening market. Near Busan Asiad Main Stadium, a Busan Tourism Promotion Center will provide a purple-themed relaxation lounge and amenities for global fans.
