(The CEN News) Reporter Baek Hyun-woo — A travel package that lets fans experience the season’s first Grand Slam, the Australian Open, in person has just launched. Hanjin Travel is offering a six-day itinerary that pairs attending the Australian Open in Melbourne in January 2027 with curated sightseeing in both Melbourne and Sydney.

Played every January at Melbourne Park, the Australian Open is one of tennis’s four major Grand Slams alongside the French Open, Wimbledon and the U.S. Open. As the season’s curtain-raiser, it attracts many of the world’s top players. Matches are held on hard courts, and Melbourne usually enjoys relatively mild weather during the tournament.

The package departs January 18, 2027, and includes nonstop service to Melbourne on Asiana Airlines. It features three match-viewing experiences: two center-court sessions with reserved seats in the main stadium and a ground pass that gives you access to multiple outdoor courts to roam freely.

Beyond the matches, the itinerary highlights key city sights. In Melbourne, guests will stop by Flinders Street Station and the Victorian Parliament, and enjoy a ride on the City Circle tram for an easy, scenic orientation of the city.

For natural scenery, the trip includes a visit to Blue Mountains National Park just outside Sydney. The park is a UNESCO World Heritage site known for dramatic features like the Three Sisters rock formation. The program also includes a visit to a Sydney wildlife park, where travelers can spot native animals such as koalas, kangaroos and wombats.

In the latter part of the trip, the itinerary covers iconic Sydney landmarks including the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge and Hyde Park. Hanjin Travel says accommodations are at an upscale hotel throughout the journey, so guests can relax in comfort after sightseeing and match viewing.

A Hanjin Travel spokesperson said, “The Australian Open is an international tournament where fans can watch world-class players in person. We designed this itinerary so travelers can enjoy both Australia’s natural beauty and its vibrant cities alongside the matches.”
