[The Public = Reporter Yang Won-mo] Hyundai Motor Group announced it will run its 2026 season program at the HMG Driving Experience Center in Taean, South Chungcheong Province, from May 9 through December 6.
The HMG Driving Experience Center opened in September 2022 as Hyundai Motor Group’s dedicated driving facility. It covers roughly 1.26 million m² (about 0.49 sq mi / 312 acres) and features a range of courses—braking, acceleration, drifting, slalom and off-road. The high-speed loop lets drivers test speeds up to around 250 km/h (about 155 mph).
This year’s lineup stretches from newbie-friendly lessons to high-performance instruction. The beginner offering, Basic Drive, is split into Light and Plus tracks. The Plus track adds real-road driving to the mix, focusing on everyday scenarios like city driving, parking and handling wet-road conditions.
Hyundai is also launching N Track Performance, led by its high-performance N brand. Riders pair with professional instructors in cars such as the Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 6 N to feel how the vehicles behave on wet versus dry pavement. The curriculum includes drifting, high-speed runs, finding the racing line, vehicle weight transfer and video and data analysis.
Kia’s contribution centers on the Tasman pickup with a hands-on off-road program. The Tasman Experience puts the truck through its paces on gravel, mud and water crossings. There’s also Tasman Intensive, which combines off-road driving with an overnight camping stay.
The center will also offer new-car driving sessions. Models like the Hyundai Ioniq 6 N, Kia EV3 GT, EV4 GT, EV5 GT and the Genesis GV60 Magma will be available for real-world driving evaluations—not just static displays—so participants can judge vehicle character under actual road conditions.
Family-focused options have been expanded. The new Package Taxi lets families pick two of four courses—dry surface, wet surface, high-speed route and off-road—for passenger ride-alongs. The Camping Experience, which pairs EV test drives with overnight camping, now includes the Kia EV5 and PV5.
Programs for children continue as well. In the Junior Driving Experience, kids build car models and learn basic coding to get an early, hands-on look at mobility tech. The simulator zone lets them take virtual drives in Hyundai, Kia and Genesis vehicles.
The facility was designed with families in mind. According to the center’s official guidance, it’s open on operating days from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday, and customers and program participants can park for free. The first floor includes an infant lounge with a nursing room, bottle sterilizer and disposable diapers, while the second floor houses a kids’ lounge stocked with children’s books and play space.
Hyundai Motor Group said it plans to grow the HMG Driving Experience Center beyond a driving school into a mobility experience destination families will want to visit together. Detailed program and reservation information is available on the HMG Driving Experience official website.
