Translation result.진에어 [Herald Economy reporter Seo Jae-geun] Jin Air announced on the 7th that customers who book tickets through its official website, mobile site, or app by June 30 will receive a free 5kg (11 lb) checked-baggage coupon.

The airline says the promotion is meant to help ease the financial burden on travelers after recent fuel-surcharge increases. With the coupon, passengers can check up to a total of 20kg (44 lb) for free—the standard 15kg (33 lb) allowance plus the extra 5kg.

Depending on the route, purchasing an additional 5kg in advance can cost as little as ₩10,000 (about $7.50) or as much as ₩65,000 (about $48.75), so this offer can lead to real savings.

To redeem the perk, download the coupon from the promotion page and apply it at checkout. Jin Air allows one coupon use per month per region across all domestic and international routes. The coupon is valid for travel through Oct. 24.

A Jin Air spokesperson said, “Booking through the official website gives customers the most accurate service and access to a variety of benefits. We hope travelers enjoy a smarter trip that reduces fuel-surcharge burdens and increases peace of mind.”

Jin Air also rolled out a Smart Travel Guide to help passengers travel with less stress. First, check in early and buy add-ons ahead of time: check in starting 24 hours before departure to claim your preferred seat, and purchase any needed extras up to 4 hours before departure to save money.

Finally, keep your contact information up to date so you can receive emergency notifications immediately, and check real-time flight information in the app—those quick checks can make the start of your trip much smoother.
