Busan is rolling out a full-scale tourism and safety plan to coincide with the BTS World Tour stop, Arirang IN Busan, this June. City officials met at City Hall on the afternoon of the 20th and finalized support measures across four pillars: city branding, crowd capacity and readiness, safety, and local economic collaboration. The city has designated June 5–21 as the “The City Arirang in Busan” period around the concerts on June 12–13. Nighttime highlights will include the Gwangandaegyo Bridge light display, a drone show, and a candlelight concert. Food lovers can look forward to Michelin-linked dining events, and visitors can explore the North Port Port Village night market. To manage crowds, Busan will beef up wayfinding at Busan Station and Gimhae Airport, increase urban rail service, and set up an on-site command center centered on Asiad Main Stadium. The city will also begin cracking down on inflated hotel rates and unfair cancellations at the end of this month. For international visitors, a youth training center will be available at about 10,000 KRW per night (approximately $7.50), and templestay bookings for foreigners will open on the foreigner-only platform NOL Universe starting the 27th. Mayor Park Hyung-jun called the events a decisive chance to showcase Busan’s potential and the strength of its public services to a global audience.
