[Sports Today reporter Lee Sang-pil] The KBO and L&P Cosmetics’ flagship brand MEDIHEAL (Chairman Kwon Oh-seop) have signed a title sponsorship for the KBO Futures League, officially rebranding the circuit as the 2026 MEDIHEAL KBO Futures League.
The KBO and MEDIHEAL also unveiled an official Futures League emblem featuring the MEDIHEAL brand, which will be rolled out across the league’s online and offline channels.
MEDIHEAL has served as the Futures League’s title sponsor since 2024 and will continue backing the circuit this season. The company will again present the Monthly MEDIHEAL Futures Rookie Award to recognize and encourage early-career players showing promise in the Futures League.
Introduced in 2024, the Monthly MEDIHEAL Futures Rookie Award names the top pitcher and hitter each month from players in their first three professional seasons who meet the league’s minimum innings or plate appearances. Winners are chosen based on Futures League WAR (wins above replacement). Each recipient receives a cash prize of 500,000 KRW (about $375) and MEDIHEAL cosmetic products valued at 500,000 KRW (about $375).
MEDIHEAL Chairman Kwon Oh-seop said, \”We’re grateful to partner with the KBO, which has become the nation’s premier professional sports organization and brings joy to fans across Korea. Through our Futures League sponsorship, we hope to be seen not only as a supporter of today’s game but as a partner invested in the future of Korean professional baseball.\”
The 2026 MEDIHEAL KBO Futures League will feature 12 teams, including the newly established Ulsan Whales. The season opener is set for the 20th, with six games scheduled across Icheon (Doosan vs. LG), Seosan (Goyang vs. Hanwha), Mungyeong (SSG vs. Sangmu), Iksan (Samsung vs. KT), Masan (KIA vs. NC), and Ulsan (Lotte vs. Ulsan).
