[Sports Today reporter Shin Seo-young] Lee Jung-hoo (San Francisco Giants) has picked up where he left off at the plate.

Lee started in right field and batted fifth on the 21st (Korean time) in the 2026 Major League Baseball (MLB) spring training game against the Kansas City Royals at Scottsdale Stadium in Scottsdale, Arizona, and went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

After drawing a walk but not recording a hit in the March 19 game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, Lee has reached base in all seven spring training games he has played so far.

Lee’s spring line now stands at a .421 batting average (8-for-19) with 3 RBIs, 2 runs scored and a 1.055 OPS (on-base plus slugging).

In the bottom of the second, Lee lined out to shortstop in his first at-bat.

He answered in his second plate appearance. With two outs and a runner on second in the bottom of the third and the Giants leading 3-2, Lee barreled the third pitch from opposing starter Ryan Burgert — a 95-mph (about 152.8 km/h) four-seam fastball — into left for a single.

Second-base runner Willy Adames scored on the play, giving Lee an RBI. Lee attempted to take second and was thrown out, ending the inning.

Lee added a second hit in the bottom of the sixth. With two outs and the bases empty, he singled to right off reliever Carlos Estévez.

A pinch-runner replaced Lee after that, and San Francisco held on to beat Kansas City 5-2.
