How Samsung Life’s Lee Hae-ran Scored 34 Points to Secure Crucial Win Against Hana Bank

[Sports Today reporter Kang Tae-gu] Samsung Life evened the series.

Samsung Life defeated Hana Bank 83-74 on the 11th at Bucheon Gymnasium in Game 2 of the 2026 BNK Financial Women’s Pro Basketball Playoffs (best-of-five).

After a disappointing Game 1 loss on the 9th, Samsung Life leveled the series at 1-1 with Tuesday’s victory. Hana Bank, unable to sustain the momentum from Game 1, will return to Yongin tied at 1-1.

Lee Hae-ran poured in 34 points to carry Samsung Life to the win.

Saki Iijima led Hana Bank with 18 points and Jin An chipped in 14, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Samsung Life.

Samsung Life set the tone early. Kang Yu-rim and Yoon Ye-bin hit consecutive baskets, and after Lee Hae-ran converted free throws and attacked the paint, the team ripped off an 8-0 run. Kang and Lee continued to pressure the rim and pushed Samsung Life in front.

Hana Bank tried to respond with Park So-hee’s back-to-back 3-pointers and Jin An’s inside scoring, but Bae Hye-yun and Lee kept attacking the paint for Samsung Life, and the visitors closed the first quarter up 24-16.

The second quarter remained tight. Hana Bank countered with Iijima’s outside shot and more inside work from Jin An, while Samsung Life answered with a triple from Kim Ah-reum.

The back-and-forth set the tone through the period, and Hana Bank trimmed the deficit to 38-44 at halftime on Jung Ye-rim’s 3-pointer and free throws by Jin An.

The third quarter followed a similar script. Early paint scores from Jin An and Kim Jong Un, plus another outside shot from Iijima, pulled Hana Bank within three, but Lee Hae-ran quelled the rally with consecutive baskets.

Hamanishi then buried a long jumper, and Samsung Life maintained a 63-57 lead heading into the fourth.

Samsung Life finished strong. Hamanishi opened the fourth with a score, and consecutive buckets from Bae Hye-yun and Lee Hae-ran pushed the lead into double digits. Hana Bank attempted to claw back behind Park Jin-young’s scoring, but Lee continued to find points for Samsung Life.

Hana Bank never found an answer for Lee Hae-ran, and Samsung Life put the result beyond doubt when Hamanishi sank free throws to seal the win.
