Translation result수원 [Herald Economy — Reporter Bae Munsuk] Going forward, kt wiz home-game tickets can be discounted by 2,000 KRW (approximately $1.50) when paid for with two tax points.

On April 23, the Central Regional National Tax Service signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the kt wiz to implement the program.

Under the deal, fans who use two tax points when purchasing a kt wiz home-game ticket will receive a 2,000 KRW (approximately $1.50) discount. Corporate tax points are excluded. Tax points are awarded at a rate of one point per 100,000 KRW (approximately $75.00) of personal income tax paid, and individuals are capped at 1,000 points per year.

To redeem, users must issue a \”tax point discount coupon\” through the National Tax Service’s mobile app (Sontax), register the coupon in the kt wiz app, and apply it at checkout.

The Central Regional NTS invited about 10 exemplary local taxpayers to the home game at Suwon KT Wiz Park. Among them, Choi Jeong-il, CEO of Paaii, and Lee Seung-su, head of the Central Regional NTS, participated in the ceremonial first pitch and first swing.

This marks the first time tax points have been authorized for use in the sports industry. The National Tax Service said it plans to work with other clubs so ticket discounts using tax points become available more broadly.

Lee Seung-su, head of the Central Regional NTS, said, “We invited exemplary taxpayers to this event to help promote a culture that rewards honest taxpaying. We hope introducing tax points to professional baseball will support growth in the sports industry and further spread a culture of compliant taxpaying.”
