T1’s Faker Achieves Historic 6,000 Assists in LCK: What This Means for Esports

Translation result.Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok of T1, who defeated Hanjin Brion in a marathon match at the LCK roadshow, reflected on becoming the first player in LCK history to reach 6,000 assists.

On April 25 at the Week 4 LCK roadshow held at Incheon Inspire Arena — T1’s home venue — T1 swept Hanjin Brion 2–0. The win moved T1 to 4–3 (+3), pushing them past Dplus Kia (4–3, +2) and into a tie with Gen.G Esports for third place.

After the match, Lee said he had a great time playing in front of fans at Inspire Arena, calling it their home ground. “I felt more prepared this year than last. My play felt more complete, so I could enjoy the game,” he added.

Ahead of the LCK’s second round, T1 brought in coach Lee Ji-hun, who spent time in the LPL with teams such as Bilibili Gaming (BLG). The move reunited Lee and the coach on the same team for the first time in 10 years. “We talk about the mid lane, but personally I think the biggest benefit is exchanging ideas. Talking with the coach helps me think more about how to improve my game,” Lee said.

Lee recorded the LCK’s first-ever 6,000-assist milestone that day. “For records like this, longevity matters,” he said. “Over time I expect more players will surpass my numbers, and fans will enjoy watching those players.”

He closed by thanking supporters: “I always appreciate your support. I’ll prepare well for tomorrow so we can put on a good performance.”
