[Anchor] President Donald Trump chaired a Cabinet meeting as negotiators prepared final adjustments to talks aimed at ending hostilities. He expressed dissatisfaction with the negotiations with Iran. Tensions have risen after U.S. forces struck an Iranian military base again, three days after the previous strike. This is Yerin Kim. [Reporter] Trump said the talks with Iran have not been satisfactory so far. He warned that if they fail to reach an agreement, the U.S. may have to finish the job and resume strikes. 「Donald Trump / U.S. President」 We haven’t reached an agreement so far, and we are not satisfied. He drew a firm line against transferring Iran’s highly enriched uranium to China or Russia for disposal, calling that option “inconvenient.” Earlier he indicated that disposal inside Iran or in a third country — rather than in the United States — might be acceptable, but he said transferring it to Iran’s allies would be unacceptable. He also stressed that the release of frozen assets and sanctions relief, which Iran is demanding, are not on the table. 「Donald Trump / U.S. President」 We will keep control of that money. If they act properly and do the right thing, we’ll return it then. In an interview with PBS, he said Iran would not obtain sanctions relief merely by giving up its highly enriched uranium. Trump also targeted Oman — which has discussed joint oversight of the Strait of Hormuz with Iran — warning that no one can control the strait and saying he could “blow them away.” In southern Iran, explosions were heard again three days after U.S. forces carried out a defensive airstrike. U.S. forces struck a merchant vessel they judged had threatened ships in the Strait of Hormuz and intercepted Iranian drones. With late-stage talks showing little progress, the U.S. appears to be increasing military pressure. This is Yerin Kim with Yonhap News TV.
