U.S. President Donald Trump said talks to end hostilities with Iran will lead to an agreement favorable to the United States.

Reuters reported that in the early hours of the 1st (local time), Trump posted on Truth Social: “Iran genuinely wants to negotiate. We will work to ensure any deal benefits the United States,” adding, “Sit tight. As always, we will handle everything.”

He also criticized Congress for excessive interference in the negotiations, calling the situation very difficult. “Politicians in Congress are meddling in what we do at an unprecedented level,” he said.

Recently, criticism of the Iran talks has come from Democrats as well as some Republicans within his own party. Earlier, U.S. Republicans accused the Trump administration of prioritizing reopening the Strait of Hormuz over its primary objective of preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons. In response, Trump returned the draft end-of-hostilities MOU over the weekend without signing it and demanded tougher terms.
