How ‘Betting on Fact’ Became Wavve’s Top New Subscription Driver in Just Three Days

[Sports Today reporter Song Oh-jung] Wavve’s new original survival series Betting on Fact shot to the top of the platform’s list for driving new paid subscriptions as soon as it premiered.

The series, which premiered on the 27th, got off to a strong start — ranking No. 1 for attracting new paid subscribers on Wavve for three straight days, from Friday the 26th through Sunday the 28th. It led across all genres, including drama and variety, in pulling in new paying users.

Betting on Fact drops eight contestants into an isolated environment and challenges them to determine the truth behind news items in an era of rampant misinformation. The high-profile cast includes Jang Dong-min — often dubbed the “survival GOAT” after four reality-show wins — comedian Lee Yong-jin, professor Jin Joong-kwon, broadcaster Jung Young-jin, singer-actor Yewon, political YouTuber Helmouse, former Democratic Party supreme council member Park Sung-min, and former People Power Party spokesperson Kang Jeon-ae. From the outset, these players engaged in intense strategic battles that drew viewers in.

Episodes 1 and 2 unfolded at a brisk pace, starting with Round 1, “Fact War,” where contestants judged the factual accuracy of news articles, and moving to Round 2, “Propaganda,” in which contestants delivered three-minute speeches before a panel of 30 online voters to sway public opinion.

Episode 3 of Betting on Fact will stream exclusively on Wavve at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 3.
