On the 2nd, Gyeongin Women’s University’s Department of Fashion Design hosted a one-hour industry-academia seminar titled “Fashion Brand and Marketing Analysis” at the cultural hall of Lotte Department Store’s Incheon branch.
Students, alongside the store’s merchandisers and buyers, traded insights on the latest fashion-marketing trends and explored hands-on education models.
At the seminar, students examined how domestic women’s apparel brands are leveraging social media and live commerce, then pitched experiential pop-up concepts. They followed with targeted marketing plans for the men’s wear market, breaking down consumer segments based on their research and receiving practical feedback from industry experts. Lotte Department Store Incheon’s MD team used the presentations to discuss store operations and collaboration opportunities, even offering on-the-spot mentoring to the students.

Since signing a “family company” partnership with the Department of Fashion Design in 2023, Lotte Department Store’s Incheon branch has supported local talent through guest lectures, career-immersion programs, and capstone design advising.
Kim Hee-ryeong, head of the Department of Fashion Design, said, “This was a valuable opportunity for students to apply classroom theory and refine it with feedback from industry professionals. We will continue to expand our industry-academia model to build both practical skills and professional expertise.”
A Lotte Department Store Incheon representative added, “Supporting the growth of local talent and businesses is our social responsibility,” and said the company plans to continue the collaboration.
