[World Today reporter Kim Se-hwa] Ottogi announced on March 30 that it signed a memorandum of understanding with Rinnai at the Ottogi Center on March 25, kicking off a collaboration to bring automated-cooking technology to its convenience meal lineup.

The partnership pairs Ottogi’s ready-to-eat products with Rinnai’s automated cooking-range technology to make cooking easier and give consumers a faster, more convenient mealtime experience.

As part of the collaboration, the companies will add an ‘Ottogi’ section within Rinnai’s automated-cooking-range application. Through this feature, users can view Ottogi product details and use a single platform to purchase items and launch automatic cooking.

Notably, the app will automatically set the ideal heat level and cooking time for each product. Tap to start from the app, and the stove completes cooking without any extra steps or fiddling.

The rollout will begin with Ottogi’s flagship convenience lines—three-minute meals, Oz Kitchen, and the soups/broths and stews category—and the companies plan to expand the menu options and service range in phases.

An Ottogi spokesperson said the partnership “sets a new standard for convenience-meal experiences by combining products with smart cooking technology,” and added that the company will continue experimenting with ways to simplify cooking for consumers and lead new food trends.
