Yeongdo District in Busan will host the 2026 Global Yeongdo Coffee Festival for three days, May 15–17, at Amir Park and the Blue Port 2021 area. The festival, themed Yeongdo — Where the Scent of Coffee Lingers, marks its seventh year with bigger participation and refreshed programming.

About 100 coffee companies, both domestic and international—including firms from 14 countries—will take part. Around 150 booths will cover the full coffee scene, from beans and equipment to cafe operations.

Following last year’s popular cupping competition (GPCC), organizers have added a new brewing showdown, GCBC in Yeongdo, this year. It’s set to draw interest from industry pros and casual visitors alike.

The festival goes beyond a consumer event by strengthening industry exchange. In collaboration with the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority, organizers will run a familiarization tour for overseas stakeholders. Working with Techno Park, they’ll also host specialty-coffee business consultations to create practical partnership opportunities among producers, distributors, and cafe owners.

A standout attraction is the AI vs. Human Coffee Recipe Battle, where attendees taste and judge recipes devised independently by artificial intelligence and by baristas. The results will be revealed on the festival’s final day.

There’s something for everyone: a coffee concert, a drone show, a popular-character parade, and hands-on family programs. Visitors can unwind by the sea in the “Mulmeong Zone” and enjoy live busking. To promote eco-friendly practices, the festival offers discounts for guests who bring their own tumblers.

Yeongdo District says the event aims to boost the competitiveness of the local coffee industry and reinforce the city’s tourism-focused brand.
