[World Today reporter Inho Choi] Starbucks is moving up the launch of its must-have summer sip as an early heat wave settles in.
Starbucks Korea started serving the Grapefruit Mango Coco Frappuccino nationwide on May 11 — roughly 11 days earlier than last year’s May 22 debut — after forecasts suggested summer temperatures would arrive sooner than usual.
First introduced in 2024, the Grapefruit Mango Coco Frappuccino blends zesty grapefruit and sun‑bright mango with creamy coconut for a tropical, Instagram-ready treat. Caffeine-free and easy to enjoy, its vivid color and exotic flavor quickly earned it the nickname \”Jamangko.\”
A Starbucks spokesperson said the earlier rollout lets customers enjoy the signature summer sipper sooner amid expected early warmth, and added that the company will continue offering diverse seasonal menus to deliver fresh, standout experiences.
