Emily Goodin, the New York Post’s White House reporter, wrote on X on May 15 that U.S. staff collected the access passes, delegation badges and temporary cellphones handed out in China and threw them away before boarding Air Force One. She added that no items from China were permitted on board.
Officials said strict security protocols were enforced for the duration of the trip. The New York Post earlier reported that President Trump was advised to refrain from using his personal phone while in China.
White House personnel relied on disposable phones and temporary email accounts. Personal electronic devices were placed in Faraday bags that block GPS and Wi‑Fi signals and were stored aboard Air Force One.
