[Sports Today reporter Lim Si-ryeong] KickFlip is launching promotions for their new single “Twenty” with a performance on Mnet’s M Countdown.
The group will release their fourth mini album, My First Kick, on April 6. Ahead of the full release, the title track “Twenty” and its music video were issued March 9 at 6 p.m.
KickFlip will showcase the breezy new single across music programs: Mnet’s M Countdown on the 12th, KBS2’s Music Bank on the 13th, MBC’s Show! Music Core on the 14th and SBS’s Inkigayo on the 15th. Member Gyehun has been tapped as an M Countdown MC, raising expectations that he will display his multifaceted charm.
“Twenty” is driven by a rock-leaning sound that races forward, capturing the complex, bittersweet emotions of a hopeful new beginning tinged with the regret of a final farewell. The single has charted on iTunes’ K-pop lists in several international markets, including Finland, Canada and Japan.
While the music video recalls a coming-of-age film, the choreography practice video uploaded to the group’s official YouTube channel on the 11th highlighted their fresh, energetic presence and drew attention from fans. Viewers praised the group with comments such as “A youth drama told through dance,” “The choreography makes it even better,” and “I want to see this live,” expressing excitement for the performance. With choreography that visually forms the number 20 and a song that celebrates the innocent start of being twenty, anticipation for KickFlip’s stage is high.
Meanwhile, at 6 p.m. on April 6, KickFlip will officially release My First Kick, their fourth mini album — which includes the pre-release track — as they continue to accelerate their rise as K-pop “super rookies.”
