By Lim Si-ryeong, Sports Today — Disney+ has set the premiere date for Hidden Singer 8 on the 31st and unveiled the show’s main poster.
Hidden Singer 8 will debut on Disney+ on the 31st and stream weekly on Tuesdays. The format pairs Korea’s iconic original singers with imitators who can faithfully recreate their voices and singing styles, turning vocal mimicry into high-stakes musical competition.
Returning four years after Season 7 (2022), Season 8 promises a slate of legendary original singers who define eras and genres. The producers are touting an ambitious, genre-spanning expansion—covering ballad, trot, rock, indie, dance and R&B/soul—promising a broader musical palette and larger scale. The lineup includes rock-ballad stalwart Kim Jang-hoon; R&B/soul vocalist Jung In; Lee Hae-ri of Davichi, South Korea’s long-running female duo; indie act 10CM, credited with bringing indie music into the mainstream; pop-rock singer-songwriter Younha; dance diva Kim Hyun-jung, famed for her dynamic performances; Ha Hyun-woo, who recorded nine consecutive wins on MBC’s King of Mask Singer; and beloved balladeer Lee Seung-gi. This extraordinary roster of original singers raises anticipation for the matchups they’ll deliver alongside the imitators.
In addition, Sim Soo-bong — a living legend of Korean pop — is confirmed to appear. The series will feature a special segment tracing her career and catalog of hits, offering what the show describes as a moving tribute to her musical legacy.
With its all-star original-singer roster and widened musical scope, Hidden Singer 8 will stream on Disney+ every Tuesday beginning the 31st, running for a total of 12 or more episodes.
