By Kim Tae-hyung, Sports Today — Seohyun, the Girls’ Generation member-turned-actress, opened up about her experience following a violin collaboration.

On March 16, Seohyun posted on her social media: “Being able to take on this performance as a new challenge in my life was a great honor. It was a happy and grateful time. I want to sincerely thank everyone who joined me. Every moment with people who love music was precious, and the experience taught me many valuable lessons.”

She admitted, “When I first decided to try this, fear came first. I was invited as a special guest for an amateur performance rather than as a trained music major. The event was framed as a festival for music-loving hobbyists, but I still worried a lot about whether I could successfully play the violin on such a big stage. That pressure and doubt were real.”

She added, “Preparing for the concert, I received so much support and encouragement from wonderful people. That helped me set aside some self-doubt and approach the challenge with joy. Above all, I am deeply grateful to my teacher, who supported me wholeheartedly and taught me patiently from start to finish. I also want to thank the conductor for their warm encouragement and praise, which gave me courage. Thanks to the Sol Orchestra’s leadership and every remarkable member who joined with passion for music, to friends who sent warm messages, and to the fans and audience members who came to the concert, I was able to leave the pressure behind and find the courage to perform.”

She concluded, “We were not perfect, but we performed with sincerity. I thank everyone once again for sharing that moment with us. I hope classical music can become more accessible and a small daily joy for more people going forward.”

Seohyun took the stage at the 8th Sol Philharmonic Orchestra regular concert on March 13 at Lotte Concert Hall in Sincheon-dong, Songpa-gu, Seoul. As a special guest, she performed Vittorio Monti’s “Csárdás” and closed with an encore of Girls’ Generation’s “Into the New World.”

Ahead of the concert, some critics questioned whether her appearance relied more on name recognition and ticket-pulling power than on musical ability, alleging a degree of “celebrity privilege.”
